About OSAW

The Achievements in Water Power Awards Program celebrates impactful achievements across the U.S. water power industry, recognizing projects and programs that advance innovation, enhance environmental and recreational outcomes, and strengthen public understanding of water power.  

The Achievements in Water Power awards are presented at NHA's 2026 Clean Currents in Phoenix, Arizona (September 21-25, 2026).

Timeline

Applications open May 18, 2026, and submissions must be finalized by June 19, 2026.

Eligibility

• Open to any organization in the U.S. water power community
• Submissions may span the full range of water power activities, including, but not limited to:
  • Operational and technical achievements: Equipment upgrades, dam safety improvements, advancements/innovations/deployment of marine, hydrokinetic, or conduit systems, efficiency gains, or innovative operational practices
  • Environmental, recreational, or historical enhancements: Habitat restoration, water quality improvements, fish passage solutions, recreational access (e.g., trails, boating flows), or preservation of historic infrastructure
  • Public education and outreach efforts: Community engagement campaigns, workforce development programs, educational materials, digital outreach, or visitor center initiatives

Achievements should demonstrate clear outcomes, measurable progress, or meaningful impact on operations, the environment, or public understanding of water power.
